Understand how capability maps are used to enlighten leaders and planners. Create and decompose capability maps. Assess health and viability of business capabilities. Use capability maps to extract and drive additional detail into elements of the strategic plan. Clearly articulate the Ends – things that the business intends to achieve and use capabilities to map direction.

Business Architecture Practice and Tools 15%

The background, history and concepts of Business Architecture as a management discipline versus a methodology. The possible benefits obtained when practicing Business Architecture. How it improves organizational performance and provides sustainable competitive advantage. Strategic investment based on aligning process performance to business strategy. The fundamental process concepts behind Business Architecture. Creating a roadmap for adopting Business Architecture. The concepts and models of governance - both conceptual models and structural models. The concepts, structures and functions of a Center of Excellence.

Business Architecture Execution and Performance 15%

Understand the concepts and principles of business performance measurement. Know examples of strategic performance management; balanced scorecard, KPI, etc. as it relates to Business Architecture. Know how to validate measurement data and to manage by measurement. Be able to define value stream, capability and organizational measures. Know a number of measurement techniques, tools, worksheets and diagrams.

Business Architecture Alignment 20%

The concepts and principles of portfolio and application lifecycle and the linkages to business capabilities. Information mapping and master data concepts linked to Business Architecture.
